MINERAL BAR
DESIGN STATEMENT
The Union Bond Store in the Rocks, Sydney is the new home for Mineral’s Fox headquarters, a timeless and sophiticated bar called Mineral and a studio space for artists, workshops, exhibitions, styling and events, aptly named Vixen.
The floor plan was designed to be a flexible space that can be closed off for visual and acoustic privacy or combined to provide more open space for gatherings or events.

The interior design is intended to be an antidote to hectic modern life. A destination where people can recharge and feel connected to nature. An inclusive and creative hideaway that engages all fives senses through touch, light, movement and sound. A place that seamlessly flows from space to space, that is not only uniquely beautiful, but feels calming and serene. All this to meet an overarching objective of creating higher benefits - positivity, improved wellbeing and meaningful connections.

Approached through the lens of decorative finishes being an object of art in itself, the design uses unexpected pairing of form, tone, texture and natural materials to ignite emotional connection and a deeper meaning to the brand’s ethos - grounded by nature.

THE DESIGN
Creating a truly seamless experience using Mineral Fox’s decorative finishes across the interior walls, floors, ceiling and joinery to create a visual masterpiece of textures and form, converging to create a sense of harmony. The colour palette is soothing and neutral with earthy mineral colours. Curved walls, joinery and furniture was mixed with organic shapes and materials, layered with different textures and tones, softening the space and adding intrigue.
The iconic landmark building is celebrated through integrating the exposed sandstone walls, beams and windows into the design. These features add character, warmth and depth to space, as well as paying homage to its history and European heritage.
